Announcing My New Qualification: Yoga Nidra Instructor

I’m excited to share some news – I’ve recently qualified as a Yoga Nidra Instructor. This is an important step forward in how I support my clients, particularly those living with chronic pain conditions.

Yoga Nidra, sometimes called “yogic sleep”, is a guided relaxation practice that helps the body enter a deeply restful state while the mind remains gently aware. Unlike ordinary sleep, Yoga Nidra creates a unique condition where the nervous system can finally let go of its heightened alertness, making it a powerful tool for recovery and regulation.

Why This Matters for Chronic Pain

For many people experiencing persistent pain, the nervous system has become “stuck” in a state of hypervigilance. In other words, the body is constantly scanning for threat and reacting as though danger is always present. This overprotective state can:

  • Amplify pain signals.

  • Prevent the body from accessing true rest and repair.

  • Keep the cycle of pain, stress, and exhaustion going.

Yoga Nidra offers a way out of that loop. By guiding the body into a state of profound relaxation, it helps reset the nervous system, shifting from “fight-or-flight” into “rest-and-digest.” Over time, this practice teaches the body and mind that it is safe to let go – creating the right conditions for healing.

How I’ll Be Using Yoga Nidra with Clients

Yoga Nidra won’t replace other therapeutic approaches, but it will complement them beautifully. Where relevant, I’ll integrate it into client sessions to:

  • Reduce nervous system hypervigilance.

  • Support deeper rest and recovery.

  • Create a greater sense of calm and resilience.

  • Help break the cycle of pain amplification.

This qualification allows me to bring a powerful, evidence-aligned practice into my work, enhancing the holistic support I offer clients on their journey toward reclaiming ease and confidence in their bodies.

Moving Forward

Living with chronic pain is complex, but recovery is possible when we work with the nervous system instead of against it. With Yoga Nidra, I’m able to offer an accessible and gentle practice that supports that process.

I look forward to weaving this into my work and sharing its benefits with those who need it most.
